Then & Now

I had to go into town today to collect a package which the Post Office tried to deliver yesterday, so I chose to go at lunchtime and eat at the church cafe again. After seeing the place deserted yesterday, I thought they could use my custom. 

It was quiet again. 

Part of me enjoyed it like that, and not just because it is safer that way at the moment. Another part of me missed the buzz of the place when it was busier pre-pandemic. 

I am still a bit down as a consequence of my decision not to go to Poland this week.
