Heart Not In It
Not sure what’s up but my heart wasn’t in it this morning, by the time we had gone past Flushing Yacht Club I was just looking forward to getting back.
Home for a late breakfast with Mrs S before starting the card writing, gift wrapping and drawing up the Christmas ‘Lists’. I reckon that I write and send off over 100 cards each year, every family member, former comrades and around 50 to RNA members but if postage rates continue to rise I might have to whittle down the list.
Following lateral flow tests Mrs S and I were all set for the EPIC Veteran Gig Club Night Out, arriving thirty minutes early we took ourselves off to the Moth & Moon for a pre dinner “swift half”.
The meal in the Asha Indian restaurant was really good, our table was ex RN & ex RAF, lots of laughter, lots of banter, just the tonic we needed as one of the guys had received a double whammy of bad news during the day but he left smiling.
Mrs S and I had decided beforehand that once the group broke up from the meal we would not be going on to a club, instead we wended our way up Trelawney Road, the hill gets proportionally steeper dependant upon your alcohol intake.
I read for thirty minutes before bed but I fear that it is thirty minutes that will need to be re-read.
