Hopefully.

Hopefully this will be the last time we have to prune this tree back. Had to get the Sold sign in.

This was a newly planted tree when we moved in 46 years ago, there was a very overgrown hedge where the wall is now, so the tree was leaning towards the light. I remember we secured it to a post with a dog lead. It seems to have worked.

I have a picture of Jodie as a baby sat under this tree surrounded by our four dogs. This summer, some 39 years later I snapped a picture of her son Franky swinging from one of the branches. A tree that's given shade to ourselves and our dogs over many a hot summers day, so much better than a parasol. We've said final goodbyes to faithful dogs under it too.

It's a tree that has witnessed so much of our life growing as a family, but I have no regrets at leaving it, and perhaps enjoying the memories as I walk past on the other side of the fence ..... That is if the new people keep it! It has beautiful blossom in the spring.
