Finding My Bearings

By JustJuli

Early Christmas present?

I wasn't needed today at my 'usual' school, as they were closing at noon, and one of the lovely cover supervisors looked after my form instead. I left them some little presents, a quiz to do and lots of chocolates so I'm sure they had a great time!

I spent the morning at a school in Brighton that I'd not been to before. Trying to get teenagers to do any work in the last lesson before the Christmas holidays is pretty much a waste of time. Some did work hard but mostly I had some lovely chats with them and it turns out that several are planning on going to the same sixth form college that my daughter went to - some doing the same subjects so they'll probably have the same teachers. A nice way to round off the year.

Oh, and had a phone call from the headteacher this afternoon at the school I've been working at for the past few weeks, offering me a job as a science teacher. Apparently, she didn't realise I wasn't in and had been trying to find me all morning!

I said 'yes'. 8-|
