Many wonderful bricks and Victorian architecture

What a very odd day yesterday was. We hopped in the car at 8am to go north for a Christmas visit to M's sisters in the midlands. By 9am we had gone 3 miles, 45 miles along the motorway a big flashing sign came up saying there was an hours delay further up. We turned off and came back home. We had done 90 miles and had gone nowhere!

In the afternoon l had tea with a friend who l mentioned in November 27 blip had written a book about to her early days in this country. Rashda lives in the next block along and as l left her flat l looked up and was astonished at the variety of beautiful ceilings bricks in the corridor. Our building was completed in 1839/40, the Victorians certainly knew how to make a building look good.
