Inversion flats
With no other jobs to do today we wrapped up warm, fixed on the panniers and cycled to the farm shop this morning. Beautiful day to be out on the bikes and there was lots of low cloud slowly burning off in the sun. The flats were looking pretty cool as we cycled out of the village.
One of the cycle paths en-route has big planters at the end to stop cars using it. Previously I have stopped and pushed through said planters so as not to hurt the plants in full bloom. Today I thought I'd just so straight through as the plants were all past it which was a mistake as I got whipped across the face with an errant stem. I was bleeding a bit when we reached the farm shop, and my face has been tingly for the rest of the day...lesson learnt.
We treated outrselves to a bag of shelled nuts and have been trying to entice squirrels onto the decking (must be a Carlyle trait). Only had an overly-ambitious robin have a go so far, and a magpie who was almost brave enough, but I'm hoping the squirrels will come!
Had a bit of a melt down last night because I'm missing our cats. P found a youtube video of a tiny kitten being fostered who reminded me of three of my cats all in one and I just got emotional. I know the cats are having a whale of a time with mum and dad, but I still miss them. Renting sucks.
