Magglepie
Super dreich day today. Planned to head over to the Pentlands but they would have been pretty misreable in the weather we had. We ventured out early doors for a bit of essential shopping then spent the rest of the day on a film marathon and watching the birds out of the window.
Early this morning, the nuts were still on the decking but someone had dragged the coconut to the floor as per usual. We've definitley got a territorial Robin who oversees everything happening in the garden, the crows won the day though, pecking away at the suet until at one point it was small enough to be carried away in one chunk, which I sadly missed for a blip. This magpie was pretty cute trying to get the remaining crumbs.
The crows also ventured to the nuts but couldn't figure out how to crack them straight away. One clever crow hid a couple at the edge of the garden and covered them up with a leaf for later. An even cleverer magpie watched the crow do it, then swooped in once the crow had left, moved the leaf and flew off with a nut! The birbs have been entertaining today.
