A bike ride in the sunshine

With only three weeks to go before we head to the South Island to cycle the Alps 2 Ocean trail (Omicron permitting, of course), we decided it was time to get back on our bikes. We cycled into Viaduct Harbour and then around past Westhaven Marina, which is where we saw the boat in today’s blip.  The two girls sitting in the boat had been paddling quite strongly, but as they came close enough for me to take a photo they stopped paddling for a while and just glided through the water.  We think it is a dragon boat, but one used for practising rather than a racing dragon boat. I added a second photo as an extra because it gives a better idea of the length.

We managed to cycle 39.6 kms, which we were rather pleased with, even on our eBikes.

There are 55 new community cases today - 41 in Auckland, 4 in Waikato, 3 in Bay of Plenty and 7 in Taranaki.
