Sign of the times

Some days aren't about aesthetics. Had a hair-tearing couple of hours trying to finalise the paperwork and Covid tests for our trip. We now need an antigen within 24 hours to get back into France, and I naively thought we could pop into the local Boots for it the day before we leave. No. Boots' appointment system is arse-about-face. You have to register, enter payment details, and even upload a photo of your passport before discovering there are no appointments anywhere on the day you need them.

We ended up booking tests in the Eurostar terminal about an hour before the train leaves. So if they are positive we are scuppered! Planning to do a self-test the evening before ...

And now we're just waiting for the blond charlatan to announce a total lockdown so we'll have to scrap the whole thing.
