Art School Days
I wanted to try and get a shot of the Glasgow School of Art, a building designed by the Architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh, it is unfortunate that there is a lot of building work going on in the area and as such it was not possible to get the shot I wanted, as I trundled down the hill back towards the office I saw this girl climb onto the wall and fumble for a cigarette, she settled cross legged and lit up. The blond hair blown by the breeze and the texture of her coat caught my eye and she was so natural and candid to be shot in monochrome. The curve in the wall and the texture in the stonework and pointing just appealed to me
She seemed to me to look like a siren from a film noir, enjoying, savoring the cigarette, headphones on and music filling her ears and her mind. I am assuming she was an art student, maybe one day famous, maybe not but to have the flair and talent to be creative is a wonderful thing.
I left her to her music and her thoughts as she stared aimlessly into the city below
