Solstice Special
Down by the riverbank, in the Nidd Gorge, just a couple of miles from us, we delighted today in an otter family - mum and two young - having a winter solstice frolic - and then - and then - a second group, seen both on the way there and back further down the river, kindly showing us their home (it’s called a holt apparently) - and they’ve been relegated to extras!
Struggling today with camera challenges, the FZ82 has had a funny turn after a couple of cold damp days, (and although the LFT is negative again today I won’t be going in the camera shop before Xmas) and problems with the focus of the P1000 (used today) which to be honest I’ve still to get to grips with
Can’t resist showcasing this vibrant flash of colour to mark the winter solstice today and the return of the light - Grateful for this nature nurture and at Christmas time ‘a kingfisher in a willow tree’ - together with otter frolics is a super special solstice treat - even if I don’t feel I can do them justice
Thanks to carol_dunham for hosting
