The odd curiosity shot

Can only remember one day in the hills as cold as today. Bloody freezing; the wind chill was brutal on the tops. Didn't help first thing when I discovered my boots were frozen solid - it was like donning a pair of bricks.

Ventured from the camp site up Harter Fell (pictured in yesterday's blip) which may be titch compared to the biggies, but it's a an absolute corker of a mountain. We are slightly restricted in terms of where we can go as The Hard Knott pass is currently struggling with monumental snow drifts which are swamping the road, so 'nipping' anywhere beyond Eskdale is a mission in itself.

A remarkably satisfying day. An alpine feel...in more ways than one, I'm sunburnt!
