Even more baltic!
I thought yesterday was cold - today hurt.
Being stationary for more than 5 minutes turned out to be a mistake of the very highest order!
Drove over to Wasdale Head with a 'proper' walk in mind. Toyed with Scafell and Great Gable but having climbed them before, we chose the apparently neglected summit of Kirk Fell. A wise choice. Despite the back breaking ascent and unbelievably steep and unforgiving descent, it turned out to be another brilliant walk. Highly recommended. Astonishing descent from 802m to pretty much sea level in about half an hour...my quads hate me.
Back to the Shire tomorrow. Reluctant to go home but a bed to sleep in is a bit of a draw...
Blip is of a dog bounding down Great Gable, man in tow. We happened to bump into said fellow and his mate on the summit of Kirk Fell, they were busying themselves with something called sota - a great game to play if you have the time or inclination!
