Festive spirit
in Haworth.
Can’t let Christmas arrive without a visit to Haworth, a place that I’ve associated with Christmas since I was a child. (See here) There are always attractive windows and Christmas displays along the cobbled Main Street.
It was quite a murky afternoon but very mild and the rain came and went in the morning after our early St Ives walk.
I had in mind to have a mulled wine and maybe a mince pie, we did that here, Hawthornes, when it was newly opened a few years ago but I had spotted a sign advertising Mulled Cider further down the street at another newly created place , The Clothes Store 81, which used to be Embers, a favoured eaterie.
Mainly a place for drinks now and quite different from the old restaurant. I enjoyed my mulled cider which had an added shot of Calvados!
Just got back down the hill in time to see the Elf Express steam train tooting through Haworth Station.
Good to keep busy as today is mainly a day of waiting.
All being well the Bath family will be with us by midnight or just after. There was mention of SiL John going out to buy a top box for the car!
Fish and chips ordered for tea tonight.
