Christingle
Albeit a few minutes late, we joined the Christingle service, which, like all our Christmas services this year, was held on zoom.
This is my effort, poor as it is. It might have been helpful for the minister to add to the notice for the service a list of requirements to have to hand. I had ensured the oranges, cocktail sticks and some sweets were available but not the red ribbon nor the candle so had to scramble for these as the construction took place, which was at breakneck speed. Thus the ribbon is off-centre and does not quite meet round the middle, while that for Mr Flum was way too long. The candles were hurriedly dug from the tin which stores the menorah candles (don't ask...), which though smaller than dinner candles are very large for an orange, so a hole was cut using my embroidery scissors. Needless to say, I'm glad we had not yet cleared the room for Christmas lunch.
Anyway, the turkey is stuffed, pigs are cosily wrapped in their blankets, a few pieces of leftover streaky bacon are rolled. The giblets are simmering for the gravy, the milk for the bread sauce is infused with flavour Not a lot to show for a day's work, but the rest can wait until the morning, I'll be up early.
May I wish everybody a very Happy and safe Christmas,
