Happy Christmas!
It’s been a really REALLY quiet Christmas Day at Wombat Hollow. Our best laid plans had to take a back seat because we have to isolate for a few days. With over 6000 cases in NSW alone today we certainly won’t be the only Australians finding themselves with the same predicament!! Apparently over 35,000 people were forced to isolate overnight, a lot of Christmas Turkey will have been left on the table. HOWEVER, we have still had a lovely day and made the best of it. Always good to try and turn a negative into a positive I say :). And so the cactus flowers put on quite a show today and lucky I took this image in the morning because early this afternoon we had an incredible storm go through, hail stones and all. The flowers are quite extraordinary and I never expected anything quite like them to appear on such a humble cactus.
Our family gathering on Boxing Day will now be on Wednesday when the coast is Covid clear. We did enjoy the baked ham for lunch though and REALLY enjoyed one of the fruit mince pies with a spicy brandy custard. Now I’m just waiting for one of my must see events of the year, The Queens Message. If it’s as well targeted as her address to the Climate Change Summit it will be well worth listening to this year.
I hope everyone’s having a really wonderful day and here’s to a much less complicated New Year.
