Merry Christmas!

Thanks so much for all of your very kind comments and support for poor Izzy! I finally got her home last night at 8 pm (and then we had our Christmas Eve dinner!). She had a LOT of diagnostics (the credit card is groaning), including X-rays and blood work, etc etc. They could find nothing wrong with her, except for a very high fever. So there's a thing the vets call "Fever of Unknown Origin". There's a specific blood test for this, after one has ruled out everything else. It takes five days - so in a few days we might have an answer, or not. Could be fungal, or bacterial or some other stuff. But she's on kitty ibuprofen and appetite stimulant and actually was a little better today. She weathered the onslaught of the grandchildren and their parents doing Christmas with us this morning, and she's still resting. Now the big trick will be to get the tiny little pill into her mouth tonight...hahah.

At any rate, we had a lovely Christmas with the "kids". Afterwards I went outside to ready the garden and plants for the theoretical snow and low temps that are coming our way. It's always a game with the forecasters you know. Because we get so little snow, if any, they blow up ANY forecast with snow to a crisis. "Snowmageddon" they scream! And then it doesn't happen. But I brought the geraniums and begonias inside since it's going to be COLD. So the sun room is chock full.

This really IS the last rose, if the forecast for cold temps is correct. I cut it and brought it inside!

Back to my jigsaw puzzle now....and a nice meal and lovely bottle of wine awaits later on. I hope you've all had lovely days, however you celebrate Christmas, or if you don't!
