Painted wings and giant rings.
Wembury Beach. Many, many photos I could have posted today after a trip to Dartmoor Zoo, Jennycliff and Wembury, but this one means a lot to me.
When the kids were small, we used to stay in a cottage near Wembury, and would visit the beach every day. Often we would be the only people there, with the kids skimming stones, making dams over the stream, exploring the rock pools, and generally loving the pebbly beach. It's not the most beautiful beach in Devon, but we considered it to be OUR beach.
Now the kids are 15 and nearly 17, we dont tend to go there anymore. I have been wondering if perhaps this is the last family trip to Plymouth that my son will come on (at least for the whole week), so we decided to take a nostalgic trip to Wembury. The light was gorgeous, the sea was a deep green colour with the waves rolling in very photogenically and the biting wind eased for a while.
A discarded frisbee proved irresistible to my husband and son, and their competitive natures came to the fore. My daughter collected pebbles and I sat and watched the frisbee game, trying not to sing Puff the Magic Dragon in my head.
Cherish every moment with those you love.
