Sort of good news

We travelled up to spend Christmas with daughter one on Thursday morning.
Her partner went to work on Wednesday night having done a clear test, came home and went to bed on Thursday morning. When he woke later in the day he felt very rough, took another test and it was positive for covid.
We had already been in the house for several hours so there was no point in us leaving (especially since it was Christmas).
Poor Lee slept for almost 36 hours but when he was awake he isolated himself, mainly because there were old people (us) in the house. Whilst he could do it, explaining to the kids was very difficult. Christmas was still very good but covid was always the very large elephant in the room.
We had planned to return home on the 27th as Boxing Day is wife ones birthday. However we did not want to press our luck too far and, without us being there the family could relax their precautions a lot, so we came home today.
Snow and thick fog to start with but light traffic made the journey quick and painless. Nice to be home in front of a blazing log fire but sad to curtail our festive visit.
These are the tests we took on arriving home; we will have to continue until the end of the week just to be sure. Fingers crossed they stay the same.
