Mish Mash of Architecture, Gracia
A lovely and spontaneous day, walking out at 10.00am and returning at 7.00pm. It's great that Bb has tried to keep his diary freer these holiday days and I'm fitting in with that to take advantage of the time. A walk to the bank in the morning, our newly-located bank - the bank visit wasn't exactly spontaneous, but no appointment and only an initial visit to get some information and locate the branch. This new location is right opposite El Mercat del Ninot food market, which we then wandered around, wanting to buy everything but bought nothing as we suspected, that knowing ourselves as we do, we'd be walking all day! Well, we did buy a glass of cava to remember our friend Helen (she commented on our blip as Restless Feet but never posted blips) who passed away in August. Our last lunch with her was in the market. She loved markets and the atmosphere of market lunch places. We then took back a Christmas present (one from me to Bb) and got a voucher for it.
We kept walking up and above Diagonal and found a little Italian restaurant on a square on Traveserra de Gracia and had a very good value menu del dia lunch. More walking, I bought a top, which will no doubt appear on blip at some point, picked up a couple of little sandy broken bricks from a skip for the patio, took lots of photos, walked all the way home and clocked up 14, 000 steps.
Watched the rest of A Very British Scandal and only needed a little bread and cheese for supper.
I couldn't decide on my blip, so have posted the cropped version as an extra as I see I have lots left, as usual! It was the shadows that first caught my eye, but I then liked the mish mash of buildings, the wrought iron and the gorgeous glass section.
