This is one of the Royal Navy's Search and Rescue Sea King MK5 helicopters based out of RNAS Prestwick, HMS Gannet.

If you look closely you will see that she has "Boscastle flood, 16 August 2004" written on the fuselage.

This year the Royal Navy's Search and Rescue are celebrating their 60th Anniversary. A marvellous achievement but at the same time the government has announced that the Helicopter Search and Rescue roll will be moved to a private company, Bristow Helicopters, by 2016.

Never mind until then the trusty Sea Kings will keep doing their good work.
