Janus

Looking forward but also looking back. This little wayside fir tree has been decorated for Christmas, the fir cones and baubles now joined with simple tokens, each commemorating someone who has died this year in the community. Simple but moving. And there's more mimosa.

It's our wedding anniversary today - a big one, Sapphire in fact. I was gifted a very beautiful pendant made out of rich blue translucent sea glass. Himself's gift is still on its way! We mused on where the years had gone. It seems a long time since we caused havoc by deciding to get married and doing so within 10 days - all during the Christmas holidays (we were teaching at the same school). Having decided to do the deed why wait? My mother did have a slightly different opinion. We had to visit the Bishop and get a special compensation and we managed a two day honeymoon in Paris in thick fog before returning to school - where the surprise was considerable.

Tonight we shall open a bottle and watch The Lost Daughter

Here's to an uplifting 2022 - all those twos sound hopeful don't they? I can't help it, an eternal optimist.
