Home alone on New Year's Eve
My human doesn't really do 'New Year', which is probably just as well because everything in Edinburgh has been cancelled. No street parties, no torch light procession and no fireworks. And the guidance is................ only three households can meet up indoors. Well that's hardly a party if it's three single people is it?!! And yet 3 households of umpteen people who are going out and about, each doing their own thing, (ie a flat of 6+ students) can all meet up together with another two households of 6+ people. The rules are crazy. Thank goodness we're heading down to our Cornish home soon.
Anyway today our weather app said 'rain'. All day. I got soaked on my 'first thing in the morning walk' and then I got soaked a few hours later when I went to Morningside Park. It doesn't look like I'm wet here, but I can assure you I was.
Ann worked at 'Wilkies' this afternoon and then she was going to pop into 'Waitrose' or 'M&S' for some tasty treats for her 'home alone' party tonight but there were queues outside both. She went to the 'Cook Shop' instead and bought a lamb curry, a couple of Pakora and some Nan bread. She will eat it whilst watching 'Coronation St' & 'EastEnders' and drinking Prosecco. #myownerknowshowtolive
I got another little 'on my lead' walk and fortunately it had stopped raining. It's actually quite mild tonight.
Staying in tonight and have no plans to see anyone tomorrow so Ann is planning on doing a LFT first thing on Sunday morning to make sure we can go and stay with her sister overnight en-route to St Ives. She doesn't want to waste her LFTs if she's not meeting anyone because they're still in really short supply here.
Who would ever have thought a year ago that we'd still be living under all these restrictions?????
Happy New Year Blippers. Here's hoping that 2022 is going to be a lot better than 2020 & 2021. xxxx
