How ridiculously warm today!
The day did not turn out as planned, nor will the rest of the weekend.
This morning we went to Scampton for a walk along LIncoln Edge, by the airfield, and then down along the bottom. Great and extensive views, some in extras, and a clearing sky.
However, about half way round the walk was cut short when we got a phone call to say Mum wasn't well and was being taken to the hospital. We managed to get through to her home and spoke to a paramedic who was with her doing a preliminary assessment and decided we'd better go back as phoning on a mobile in a windy field wasn't the best!
So, back to the house, lateral flow tests and off to the hospital (very near) to see what we could find out. I managed to ascertain she was in A&E but that was it, no answer from anyone. Back to the house and about 20 phone calls and 3 hours later we managed to get through and were told she was being seen by a doctor who would phone us in about 30mins. That never happened and it was another 3 hours later and at least 20 more attempts we were told she was being admitted and was a bit better, though has a chet infection. Another 3 hours and she was still waiting for a bed but at least we knew which ward it would be in.
No more can be done until tomorrow, we are a bit concerned about her being in A&E so long, she is very vulnerable to pressure sores and recently has been provided with a special bed.
It's so frustrating waiting to get a bit of info and no-one answering the phone, but I did pass some of the time by going for a short run round the village.
Hope you all have a good New Year.
