Castle and cathedral

My brother was able to ascertain Mum had finally got to the admissions ward and was waiting for the ward round so there was nothing more we could do then so we went into the city to see how it had changed .
The top of the hill, and Steep Hill were much the same (extra) but the bottom was transformed by the removal of all evidence of heavy industry and its replacement by the university.

Back up the hill and "home". after lunch we got another update, she'd been unwell earlier but was improved a bit and they would see if they could get her to phone us later - which didn't happen, though it wasn't entiirely surprising. At least the ward haven't phoned to say there are any new problems.
This evening we've watched the New Year Live programme, my niece was in the choir, and the concert from Vienna, it's now bedtime.
