Underley tree down

Charlie left yesterday - and hence was missing from our Barbon walk - and Milly left to go back to Leeds, this morning. Dan and Abi were working, so that left just me and Hannah to take a stroll out to Underley at lunchtime.

We lived on the farm from around March 1992, when Charlie was a year old, until the middle of 1997. Hannah was born on Valentine's Day, 1993, so this was where she lived for the first four years of her life.

We took a little detour to go and look at Home Farmhouse, where we lived, and then continued on into Kirkby Lonsdale, passing this circle of trees in one of the fields. I think there used to be eight or nine trees, and I had a never realised fantasy of going to sit beneath them with a book and a flask of soup one day. Now another tree has fallen.

Hannah and I carried on our way - via the rugby club as the Brow is still closed - and had lunch at Botanica, where we were served by Abi :-)
