Day 6 of Peak District Holiday

Woke up to lovely sunny day this morning, although it was a shame our morning was taken up with another appointment in Nottingham, followed by a further one in Mansfield.

We then drove over to Wingfield Manor as it was somewhere else I fancied exploring.....only to discover a big sign on the gate saying the ruins were closed! I hadn't realised till we checked it out further that it's only open to the public the first Saturday in every month. When I phoned later on to try to book tickets for tomorrow, got told it's fully booked! Grrrrrr! So had to be content with this illicit photo taken from the field nearby!

After that, we drove over to Matlock for a scenic drive to Riber Castle but were also unable to get close enough to that to take any good photos due to the on site security. Not a good day for blipping ruins!

It then started to pour with rain, so further plans for visits put on hold until another day!
