Happy New Year everyone! It’s been cloudy with periods of heavy rain and some thunder thrown in. Our high was 61 deg F. They are hinting at snow in the next few days - can’t wait. We watched the ball drop in Times Square, spent some time chatting with family and then I finished another novel in the wee hours so we slept in. Thankfully, Hubby’s cough wasn’t as incessant so we did sleep a bit. He was awakened with a great e-mail notification: his COVID test was negative. Hooray!! We got word that more relatives have tested positive, one being the cousin who lives across the field and looks after our mother on a daily basis. We will keep a close watch for her displaying any symptoms. There were over 400 new cases here a few days ago and 385 new cases the next day. With the holiday I am not sure if our county site has info on the last 24-hr period. My daughter seems to be getting worse with at least two days of severe headaches. I have implored her to seek medical help. After spending quiet time with morning prayers (my New Year’s resolution), we enjoyed brunch; it was too late for breakfast. I drove (since it was raining) through the neighborhood to take my blip shot. Looks like we’ll have plenty of reading material if my Kindle let’s me down. These cute little “libraries” are popping up everywhere. We made a grocery order, worked on some word/number puzzles and settled down to rest and read on the recliner with the kitties and coffee. More soup and stuffed ham ready for dinner. Thanks for dropping by. Hope your day was pleasant. Be safe folks. “Rainy days should be spent at home with a cup of tea and a good book”. – Bill Watterson
