Diary of an Edinburgher

A special visitor!

An early start today for JR! Back to the gym, after about two weeks’ reprieve. But she bounded up and off without a whimper. Though the session was pretty tough going, apparently.

We had a visit from Annemique, who, for several years, took Archie out for walks. She moved back to Sweden last year to study as a midwife in Stockholm, but pops back regularly as she spent several years here.

She brought her ex-flatmate’s dog, Lara, so of course, Archie was rather distracted. But he did recognise her, and was excited, once he’d checked out Lara.

After we’d caught up with Annmeique’s news, and Archie had gone off with Elizabeth (fourth day in a row!!) we walked across the Meadows to go for lunch. It was a glorious day, blue skies and no wind. But as always, going across the Meadows, one realises that there IS actually a wind. Directly from the North Pole, too. Boy! It was freezing, about 2° according to my weather app.

We popped to our favourite Maki&Ramen for some sushi,  goyza, and prawns. Yum yum. Then a walk along the canal and back to the Links. 6,260 steps!! I was stuffed, but JR set off through Bruntsfield to do some extra faster steps.

Christmas pudding and custard for tea - we didn’t manage it on the actual day.
