Blue Sky, Blue Tit
This blue tit was singing its spring song this morning from a young oak tree through the marcescent leaves. I have a theory that the more vigorous a tree is the longer it retains its leaves. However, the large bough that fell from our southerly oak tree still has every leaf in place, though the tree itself is bare. No plant hormones getting to the severed bough to produce abscission.
A pair of parakeets flew over at 16:26:03. I photographed the gull while I was waiting. (Extras) Most of the gulls I see are black-headed gulls, which don't have black heads in winter. This one is a juvenile of another species, not sure which.
