Rain and sleet today. I'm so fed up with all the mud. I took a spade, shovel and stiff brush to the drive this afternoon.

Ollie dog and I waited for the parakeets. We didn't see them today but heard them at about three thirty.

As we returned to the house past the farmyard a shaft of sunlight suddenly lit up the end of a barn. As I was photographing it and the nearby catkins the farmer's son drove into view. He was cleaning the yard with an old 1970s Massey Ferguson 50B backhoe loader.
