In Search of Starlings

Following very clear instructions from Knottman2,  we somehow missed the viewpoint and ended up doing a 6km circular walk in the dusk looking for starlings. They were not doing their acrobatics today,  but it was sleety rain and any self respecting starling was just making a dive for the reeds.  I found a place I could balance my long lens on a wall to get a shot of Arnside Tower in the distance which provided the more artistic shots but blurred starlings because it was nearly dark.  Never mind, we saw many many more than we have ever seen before. and got in an unexpected 6km walk.
PS this was  on top of my 500m swim in 6.2°C Windermere this morning, most but not all in a wetsuit.
