I was called by Mums carer just after 7am. Mum had had an awful night , and was v distressed. I went round and provided reassurance, and gave her a shower and washed styled her hair . This gave her a boost. My nursing skills still come in handy .
Mum was not able to keep any fluids down or food and after a call to 111 , and discussions with a lovely out of hours Dr , an ambulance was called and Mum was admitted to a medical assessment unit at the local hospital around 2 pm.
I was not allowed to go with her , but found out I could visit later.
I went back home and picked up A and we went for a walk around Castle Loch. It was good to get out in fresh air and in nature. We saw and heard both willow and long tailed tits. Beautiful!
A dear friend Pat had brought round some lovely daal and spinach soup which we enjoyed when we got home.
Then we both went to the hospital to see Mum.
Hospitals are grim and Mum was not adapting to it well.
We spoke to a kind and helpful nurse and found out that Mum is being treated for pneumonia.:-(
The nurse reassured us that Mum should get plenty of help.
It’s been a difficult day , especially for my poor Mum. Even though I did by best i still feel rubbish.
