Looking back and planning ahead

What a wet and dreary day it has been! We had planned to do some practical work in our local wildlife area this morning but postponed it until tomorrow because of the dire weather forecast.
Instead,  Martin and I held our annual household review (laughingly referred to as our AGM) where  we  look back over the past year at our achievements(!), holidays, friends  met,  gardens visited, etc.  We also look at  what  we didn't manage to  do; decluttering is always in there!  Then we note the places we want  to visit, the friends we want to see, the jobs in the  garden and house we need to carry out in the forthcoming year, etc. We set a review date for mid- way through the year to check  we are on course. Naturally, by this time, the plans will be  going  awry, as other issues have always  occurred  to knock us off course, and we have never been known  to achieve all our goals by the year end,  but we always  find it a useful exercise to remind ourselves how we have spent our time during the past twelve months. At  least I was able to record that I had managed to keep my blip journal going throughout 2021!

Today's blip is of Martin stirring the prawn pilaf he was cooking of dinner. A bright end to the day.
