It's a while since I've been to a choir concert so today was special. The Cairn Chorus were wassailing outside Dunscore Church, so I went up to listen. I used to sing with this lovely choir so some of the songs were familiar, including one of my favourites, "Hail Smiling Morn"' sung here with enthusiasm in a Yorkshire pub in the days when people packed together like sardines.

I walked up to Dunscore and in showery weather and the rain stopped just long enough for the performance, with even a brief rainbow. Joanna walked back some of the way with me in what I call "real rain"; my trousers are drying out as we speak!
