More snow!
Again we woke up to a heavy snowfall and low clouds with zero visibility of the mountains. After breakfast the clouds had lifted a bit so Luke, Tommy and Inca went up the mountain skiing, while Gavin and I stayed home, I am very much a fair weather skier these days and have no desire to ski in such conditions. The conditions up the mountain were not great for them, there were very lumpy pistes and sticky snow, with visibility coming and going, but they enjoyed themselves.
Gavin and I completed our Covid travel documents and loaded them up onto the VeriFLY app, so that is all done - no need for any pre-entry tests to the UK anymore, we only have to do a lateral flow test within 2 days of arriving home.
We then went for a walk around the village, and ended up having a salad for lunch at a restaurant - we were the only ones in there! It snowed on and off all day, and after our lunch we went for a walk but the snow soon got heavier and with the wind blowing in our face it wasn't that pleasant. This scene was taken on our walk, it was a colourless sort of day, and this image is colour although you could easily think it was a monochrome image. In extras some more scenes from today, the first extra is in mono, but the second one is in colour - not that you can really notice that.
After the young adults came down the mountain we went for coffees/hot chocolates and then Luke and I went grocery shopping to get some food for him for the week. We return home tomorrow but Luke is staying for the week, working from here for a few days and taking time off for some of the days. Meriel joins him later this week, she was unable to come earlier due to work commitments with her masters studies. Luke won't have a car while he is here so it was easier for us to help him get groceries today while we have a car as it is quite a hike up the hill to get to the apartment from the supermarket.
It has been a lovely few days away for us, and Xena has also had a great time with Fi. Fi said she has been the best behaved visitor she has ever had so that is good to know! Unfortunately for us the weather has not been great, quite different from the forecast I looked at before deciding to come away, but very changeable weather is what happens in the mountains.
Last night we watched The Lost Daughter on Netflix - it provoked much discussion amongst us, we all thought that Olivia Coleman acted very well and it was worth seeing even though it was not what we expected.
