Grey Heron

As I was approaching the loch today I thought I could see the young one on the grass near the entrance. However as I got closer a man came out with quite a big dog and when I looked around there were a few people with dogs. Not surprisingly the young one was nowhere to be seen. I walked down to the fence at the water's edge and saw her flying out of the trees towards me. After all this time I still get a thrill out of seeing her flying to me. Anyway she landed on the newly built gabion cage then jumped down to the water where I fed her. I thought she looked quite spectacular when she landed on the gabion cage.
