At last, a Kingfisher!

MaggieD and I were wandering along the canal towpath this afternoon and discussing the fact that we had not seen the Kingfisher for a very long time. MaggieD then pointed across the water and said “what is that?” I looked and thought it might be just a bit of blue plastic binding but a check through the camera viewfinder showed this real genuine Kingfisher! Sorry, not the best photos but the camera was trying to focus on surrounding branches , not the wee birdie!
Something of an annoyingly mixed day, weatherwise. We did see some blinks of sun but not as much as forecast and the wind remains chilly with occasional and unwelcome splashes of rain. On the up side, the daylight hours are now quite noticeably stretching out at last.
