Nina
The portraits continue! This is Nina, who returned from Adelaide late last night and still made it out to brunch with me this morning.
We went to a cafe of her suggestion called the New York Tomato (no idea why it's called that!) which was tucked up a side street in what appeared to be a garage. Both of us had a bit of trouble finding it because the street was residential, but it was nice and quiet so it's a good spot for a cafe! My breakfast was called the First Lady, and I chose it almost because of the name alone. It was a big veggie breakfast and it was delicious, if a little difficult to eat!
After brunch I hurried home to prepare for tonight's big event - Jess and Julia's 21st birthday party (the theme being Winter Wonderland, something I suggested many months ago and which they ran with beautifully). I had brownies to cut into hearts and pack into fancy boxes, a speech to write, and a lot of beautifying to do. It all got done, and I was in the city for pre-party food with plenty of time to spare.
The party was brilliant - loads of old friends (plus new people to meet), good music and the best atmosphere. Everyone looked super classy in their winter wonderland clothes and I'm pretty sure everyone, especially the birthday girls, had an amazing time!
I think this photo is a bit dark, but Nina looks lovely and it captures the atmosphere of our relaxed brunch in the sunshine!
