From the horse's mouth

Something a bit different today! I deliberated over which picture to use for ages but this one eventually won out.

This morning was spent nursing a hangover from last night. The pain was worth it, even if it was early afternoon by the time I was a fully functioning human!

Mum came over this afternoon and we walked around to a little gallery near my house where a friend of hers had a sculpture showing. The sculpture was of a horse and it was amazing - Mum and I both gasped when we saw it, and I took a lot of photos of it but it was hard to get a good shot because every angle was so different. There were other exhibitions in the gallery - a really trippy light projection installation, these hanging cardboard sculptures that were apparently based on amphoras and a piece made from cassette tape glued to the walls. It was a really interesting space, and even thought it's literally five minutes away I had no idea it existed.

It was so lovely and warm today, so after our art-gazing Mum and I went and found a cafe to cool down in. We ended up in an Italian canteen style place that I went to last year when it first opened. It's really nice in there, very minimal and with a really friendly atmosphere, so Mum and decided we'd have to go back for dinner at some point.

I don't know why but I just love this photo. I love the text, which is the title of Mum's friend's sculpture, and even though I sort of felt I should use a picture of the sculpture for today, for some reason I couldn't get past this one. When I can I'll most definitely be linking to the others!
