Canal-side

Another mystery trip this morning - my plan is to take J somewhere and she can guess where we’re going (the geographer in her loves this sort of thing). Yesterday morning we went west, this morning we went east, not too far again as we have things to do and sort in the afternoons.

This was our destination, the Bridgewater Canal. Salford CC and partners have done a great job of improving the footpath and cycle way on the south side of the canal, and have now created a wider path on the north bank which enables direct access to RHS Bridgewater. It’s a great route, and J felt very comfortable as it was pretty quiet. Her first canal-side walk since March 2020.

We didn’t go into the garden, judging by the cars it would have been too busy. Salford residents have free access on Tuesdays, they don’t have to be RHS members.

Next, when we have a “spare” half-day, trips north and south. It’s a way of making dull January a bit more interesting.
