The Bonsai Greenhouse

Last night the outdoor temp dropped to dangerous temps for tropical plants and bonsai.   When the roots freeze in the pot, the plant is finished.  They can handle some of the upper leaves and tiny branches burnt, but if the roots freeze, the plant can't bring water and nutrients up to the leaves.  With the root tips frozen, there is no more growth from the root and everything dies.
       I put on the light bulb, drapped the greenhouse in frost cloths and placed all of the plants inside..  Todays blip is a collage of the 3 levels with inside light on, making silhouettes of the plants through the corrugated plastic.
     In the morning, the plants were fine, it was warm inside and all was well.
