Happy New Year

There were no fireworks or ceillidh dinner last evening.  I think it may have been too wet for fireworks or the resort did not want a crowded dancefloor of inebriated revelers. The resort is also quieter and perhaps it would not have been economical to hire a band.  Not much else to do today but to cajole the children out into the very fresh air for a walk along the loch side - there is more pavement near the resort. These sheep are new; we've only ever seen white woolly sheep in this area, but i think we've seen sheep like these in the fields around our home town.  In the extras, I'm unsure whether Eve is surprised by the sight of a telephone box or upset by the closure of the only shop in the village.  The young couple who owned the shop had tried numerous ways to bring in business over the years, but I think there are too many houses now that are rented out as holiday homes - thus self catering.  it was also a pleasant surprise to see the abandoned bus stop shelter being repurposed as a library/ information booth.
