WFH perks

Today was one of those days that make the winter seem doable. Clear, bright blue skies and crisp, frosty ground. I was fortunate to be having a WFH day today which meant I could flex my hours and escape to the hills for a run with my friend, Helen. It was beautiful, as the long Mynd always is. We ascended through the winter of the valley and then up to the warm sunshine at the top. It was the kind of day that phone cameras just don’t do justice to. We descended back down to find that it was still very much winter in the valley.

En route to the Mynd we heard on the Radio that France has lifted their travel ban. Queue a frantic message to mum. Flights are now booked for Nice in February and it can’t come soon enough. Thanks, Emmanuel.

I had a productive rest of the day working on my new Wild Craft Mentoring course which hopes to tap into nature’s cure. The project will explore topics around mental health with young people while getting them outside: making pigment by bashing up rocks, finding natural paintbrushes in their surroundings, printing with beetroot and making stencils from found objects. We got the go ahead from school yesterday to be able to take kids off-site, so now it’s just up to me to get the planning finished.

Now just to stay awake until BBCQT. At 10.35. Yawn.
