Buntings in Hong Kong

Our little boy went for his first Dim Sum lunch in Hong Kong today. I can't say he was particularly enthusiastic about the examples placed in front of him, but our daughter appreciated the difference between then, and what her Dad rustles up from the frozen stuff from the Chinese supermarkets in Edinburgh. We then did a bit of shopping with my parents in Tai Po, and to be honest the place has gone to rack and ruin. Or rather, there seems to be so much money swirling around now that many of the cheap and cheerful shops have been shoved aside for fancy jewellers, designer clothes shops and beauty product vendors. It certainly seemed the days when it was pretty simple to pick up cheap clothes from a department store are now over. So all we really managed to buy were a few stickers for the kids to, err, decorate their bedroom doors in my parents' house. They will probably still be there when we return to Hong Kong again.

Then over to find a church for my wife's Good Friday obligations. These buntings were hanging outside and I just liked the way they contrasted against the buiding in the background being repaired. I'm also impressed that they are still using bamboo sticks for their scaffolding material :)
