All at sea

Early colonial explorers of inland Australia were convinced there was an ‘inland sea’ in the centre of the continent. They were wrong, although for a while today we sympathised with their delusion. Major roads in places were covered by flood waters following recent heavy rain. This was the scene early afternoon today on the road between Condobolin and Lake Cargelligo. Further south, a major highway that we would have taken today, had been closed for a few days. The main photo makes the situation looks worse than is was, there is another view in the extra.
