Getaway

We are spending this weekend in Chester, it’s so nice to have a night away from home.

As part of Mama & Papa A’s golden wedding gifts, Laura booked a family afternoon tea at the Grosvenor Pulford hotel in Chester. As his brother & family live in North Wales, Chester is conveniently placed for everyone to get to.

Since we missed out over Christmas and New year due to covid, we decided to treat ourselves and book a night at the hotel to just chill, take advantage of the spa and have a mooch round the city centre tomorrow. We managed to get an early check in to dump the bags before we met everyone for food and we got a free room upgrade too which was nice.

Afternoon tea was just ok. We’ve certainly had better food (you can’t beat the Belmond Mount Nelson in Cape Town!) but the surroundings were lovely.
I think the main thing was we were all together as a family, which is what Mr A’s parents cherish the most.
