The Quinta Arboretum

A visit to Swettenham and the Quinta Arboretum this afternoon. Bernard Lovell, the physicist and radio astronomer, moved to the village in the 1950’s, it isn’t far from the radio telescope he developed with Manchester University. He was a bit of a plantsman, and - as you do - created a significant arboretum adjacent to the village. These days it is owned and managed by the Tatton Garden Society.
