Gorse Flowers

I woke feeling much more refreshed this morning.  A good night’s sleep did me good.  TT went off to church and I had to make sure that BB got out to rugby training.  I had to give him a lift so he got there in time, so combined it with a quick supermarket shop for some essentials.  I came home and continued my chores from yesterday.  However before I could wash the kitchen floor I had to clean up more mud left behind by BB from muddy rugby boots this morning and mess made by TT while Zooming last night.  Grrrrrr!  In amongst all that there was laundry and all the other usual things.  I still have a massive ironing pile – but I’m hoping most of it doesn’t need ironed.

TT made lunch when he returned and of course BB appeared just as we had finished.  He jumped in the shower, grabbed some lunch and then headed straight back out again to go swimming with some chums.  TT was tidying the garden.  I needed some fresh air, so went for a walk, and took in part of the river I haven’t been along for weeks  as it gets very muddy.  It wasn’t too muddy today and I saw a number of trees broken, presumably more casualties of Storm Arwen.

I watched some more of The Tourist  - but I am not hooked.  TT cooked tea – a new recipe from his new cookbook.  It was very nice, apart from the aubergine gloop which we were agreed was a little odd, not unpleasant – just odd. Just as we had sat down to eat, BB appeared.  His timing is impeccable.

Later the boys watched The Eternals.  I gave it not very long, but knew it wasn’t for me.

Lovely to see the gorse , or whins as we called it when I was growing up, in bloom, brightening up the verges in mid-January.
