Hard frost

Beautiful moonlight last night when I took the hound out before bed.  The ground was already frozen after 10pm.  Beautiful but chilly day in the shade.
This morning the birds were very hungry on the feeders. A greater spotted woodpecker paid a rare visit to the bird feeder. I couldn't get a decent shot with the nearest camera, my phone. 
Decided to catch up with some chores: cleaned kitchen sink, handwashed a jumper. Took hound out in sunshine. Lunch then made dinner.
I have lost another pair of reading glasses. Now down to a pair with spring-loaded arms which after a while feel like they are boring into my head. Have ordered cheap ones online but will look in town tomorrow. I literally need a pair in every room.  Vanity and impracticability prevent me have a glasses chain.
